Bluehole

Bluehole, Inc.(known as Bluehole Studio, Inc.until 22 April 2015) is a South Korean computer game designer situated in the Bundang-gu region of Seongnam. Established by Chang Byung-gyu, in Seoul, in March 2007, the organization is best known for creating TERA (2011) and PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (2017), the last through its PUBG Corporation auxiliary.


 In November 2018, Bluehole sorted out itself under a recently established parent organization, Krafton Game Union. PUBG Corporation, some time ago Ginno Games, is an interior studio of Bluehole's that built up PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG). It was declared that the organization would be obtained by Bluehole on 27 January 2015, with the deal to close on 27 March that year.At the time, Ginno Games utilized 60 people.Ginno Games changed their corporate name to Bluehole Ginno Games in May 2015. Following the achievement of PUBG in 2017, Bluehole Ginno Games was renamed PUBG Corporation in September 2017.

A subsequent office was set up in Madison, Wisconsin in late 2017, with two further workplaces in Amsterdam and Japan opened later.On 12 March 2018, PUBG Corporation gained New York-based studio MadGlory, which was renamed PUBG MadGlory.In June 2019, another studio called Striking Distance was opened related to Glen Schofield, the prime supporter of Sledgehammer Games. Striking Distance, headed by Schofield as CEO, is set to create account driven games dependent on PUBG.

In August 2017, Chinese holding organization Tencent declared that it had, following a turned-down procurement offer, put an undisclosed measure of cash into Bluehole. Bluehole at first denied that any venture had been made,but later expressed that they were in converses with Tencent in different organizations, including the procurement of a value stake in Bluehole by Tencent. In this manner, Tencent obtained 1.5% of Bluehole for a sum of ₩70 billion.Tencent reaffirmed their goals to completely procure Bluehole in November 2017.Korean magazine The Korea Times recommended that a first sale of stock, through which Bluehole would turn into an open organization, was "out of inquiry" because of Chang Byung-gyu's situation as executive of both Bluehole and the Fourth Industrial Revolution panel. 

Through the securing, Tencent is set to turn into Bluehole's second-biggest single investor, following Chang Byung-gyu, Bluehole's author and administrator, who claims 20.6% of the organization.
